The transfer human animal diseases such as of tuberculosis from livestock to their owners is a large problem in developing countries. Veterinarians Without Borders is partnering with Dr. Michael Apamaku in Uganda to diagnose and track this disease transfer between animals and their human households, with the goal of teaching livestock owners to recognize signs of disease. As is true of many laboratories in developing areas, Dr. Apamaku and his team are in need of equipment. You can help by donating to the Uganda Disease Surveillance Project. Funds will be used to buy diagnostic equipment for VWB and Dr. Apamaku’s laboratory efforts.
